Tradeboard Shifts Missing

There can be a few reasons for shifts to appear to be missing off the Tradeboard.

The shift was posted as Trade or Trade/Drop and there is an offer pending

When an employee places a shift on the Tradeboard (for ‘Trade‘ or ‘Trade or Drop‘) and another employee makes an offer on that shift, the shift disappears from the Tradeboard to avoid multiple offers.  The trade offer is then sent back to the originating employee for approval.  If the employee approves the trade, it will be sent to managers for final approval.

During the interim, while the trade is awaiting employee approval, you can see it listed in the “Offers in Progress” section at the bottom of your Trades Awaiting Approval page.

Note that Unassigned shifts posted for pickup or shifts posted for ‘Drop Only’ do not require employee approval, and those shifts will sit on the Tradeboard collecting more offers, so that managers will be able to choose from various offers.

We avoid multiple offers for shift trades, but allow them for unassigned shift pickups and for “drop only” posts.

The shifts are for currently unpublished Positions

If the week is partially published (you can see the purple and red line at the top), the shifts in question may be for positions that are currently unpublsihed.  Once that position is published again then they will show on the tradeboard.

You can always tell which Positions are Published by looking at the Positions drop down menu. Any Positions shaded in purple are Published; the others are not.

In addition, on the By Employee view, the Position is underlined in purple if it’s published. If you filter to “Manager” you’ll see those shifts underlined, because they are Published.

Edits were made by Manager to shift after posting

If there’s a shift that has disappeared in the midst of the trade process, it’s possible that a manager edited the shift in question. If a shift’s date or time or position is changed, the edit is significant enough that the trade offer is cancelled.

once any employee requests to pick up that shift, the shift becomes unavailable for anyone else to pick it up
