{"id":773,"date":"2018-05-04T02:27:21","date_gmt":"2018-05-04T02:27:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/?page_id=773"},"modified":"2022-01-02T21:36:46","modified_gmt":"2022-01-02T21:36:46","slug":"h-emp-positions-grid","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-emp-positions-grid\/","title":{"rendered":"Employee Positions Grid &#8211; View, Set which employees can work each position"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Employee &#8220;Positions Grid&#8221; &#8211; quickly review and edit employees&#8217; Positions and &#8220;Position Preferences&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can set each employee&#8217;s positions (and optional\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-positions\/h-rate-emps-pos\/\">Position Preferences<\/a>) on their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-emp-view-edit\/h-add-new-emp\/\">Add<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-emp-view-edit\/h-edit-emp-det\/\">Edit Employee<\/a> page, or you can use the employee&#8217;s Positions Grid to quickly set them for all employees. This will allow each employee to be assigned to shifts for those chosen positions and (if allowed) they will see shifts on the Tradeboard for those positions.<\/p>\n<h2>To set Positions with the Employee Positions Grid:<\/h2>\n<p>From any page:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the top menu, hover over\u00a0<strong>EMPLOYEES<\/strong>\u00a0and choose Positions Grid\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Check off the positions for each employee (see shortcuts below)<\/li>\n<li>Click the\u00a0<strong>Save<\/strong>\u00a0button<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/04\/1-Employee-Positions-Grid.png\"><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3776 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/04\/1-Employee-Positions-Grid.png\" alt=\"employee positions grid\" width=\"700\" height=\"336\" srcset=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/04\/1-Employee-Positions-Grid.png 700w, https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/04\/1-Employee-Positions-Grid-300x144.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When viewing the grid, you can see which Positions are set for each employees and any Position preferences that are set. You can see a color in the cell background of each position indicating position preferences have been set. Positions preferences can also be set from the <a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-emp-view-edit\/h-edit-emp-det\/\">Edit Employee<\/a>\u00a0page or from the Positions Grid.<\/p>\n<h2>Shortcuts for using the Employees Positions Grid:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Click the top checkbox in any column to set all employees to that Position<\/li>\n<li>Click the first column checkbox to set that employee to work all Positions<\/li>\n<li>Hover over any Position name column title to see the whole Position name.
