{"id":661,"date":"2018-05-04T01:51:09","date_gmt":"2018-05-04T01:51:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/?page_id=661"},"modified":"2021-04-18T22:37:26","modified_gmt":"2021-04-18T22:37:26","slug":"h-print-problems","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-print-problems\/","title":{"rendered":"Problems &#8211; Page Breaks, Colors, Landscape, Size"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Printing Problems &#8211; Page Breaks &#8211; Print Background Colors<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Print Margins and Page Orientation: Portrait &#8211; Landscape Setting<\/h3>\n<p>To set how your printer controls printouts, you can change your browser options under your browser&#8217;s File menu and choose Page Setup.<\/p>\n<h3>Page Breaks<\/h3>\n<p>If you want better control over how your browser and printer handle the printouts (page breaks, etc.), you can try the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Try a compact schedule view such as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-sched-view-layouts\/h-compressed\/\">Category Chart<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-sched-view-layouts\/h-in-out-view\/\">In-Out Times Chart<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If you are using the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-view-edit-sched\/h-by-emp-drag-drop\/\">By Employee schedule view<\/a>, try unchecking the &#8220;<strong>Show the date header once on each page<\/strong>&#8221; option in the &#8220;Change Layout&#8221; window. This may result in your printout being slightly longer, but it will prevent pages from breaking within an employee&#8217;s row.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Try changing the schedule &#8220;Change Layout&#8221; print options (such as making the font size smaller, etc.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Try printing a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-sched-view-layouts\/h-filtering\/\">filtered schedule<\/a>. (Ex. filter your schedule first to show one Position, Position Group or Category at a time). Then print and repeat for each Position or Position Group.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Or, try adjusting the margins in your browser under File\/Page Setup.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>You can save the &#8220;printer friendly&#8221; page and use a word processing program to make whatever changes you like to the page and then print from that program, (see below).\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>To save a page and print it using another program:<\/h3>\n<p>From any page you want to save:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Print<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>When your printer dialog window comes up, click\u00a0<strong>Cancel<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>In the top menu of your browser, Choose\u00a0<strong>File &gt; Save As\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Save the file to your computer and then open it with your word processing or other program.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Background colors not printing<\/h3>\n<p>If your color printouts are not including the blocks of color, it is probably because your browser is not set to &#8220;Print Background Colors&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>\n<img class=\"noborder alignleft wp-image-2182 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/07\/chromelogo.png\" alt=\"chrome logo\" width=\"41\" height=\"47\" \/><br \/>\n<span class=\"red\"><strong>To Turn on background color Printing &#8211;
