
{"id":4321,"date":"2020-06-01T18:31:54","date_gmt":"2020-06-01T18:31:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/?page_id=4321"},"modified":"2021-04-20T17:25:10","modified_gmt":"2021-04-20T17:25:10","slug":"time-off-rolling-block","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/time-off-rolling-block\/","title":{"rendered":"Time off Rolling Block Window"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Managers with permission to &#8220;Approve \/ Deny Time Off Requests&#8221; can also set a rolling Time Off Block window.<\/p>\n<p>This blocks employees from being able to request time off on certain dates based on a window of time you set up.\u00a0 This can be helpful if you require a certain amount of notice or if you want to prevent them from asking for time off too far in advance.<\/p>\n<p>For example, if you require one week notice for time off then set &#8220;<strong>Advanced Notice&#8221;<\/strong> to 7. This will mean employees cannot ask for a date off that is less than 7 days in future.<\/p>\n<p>And for example, if you do not want employees asking for dates off more than a year in advance then set &#8220;<strong>Not to far in advance<\/strong>&#8221; to 365 days. This will automatically block employees from asking for time off dates more than a year in the future.<\/p>\n<h2>Set a Rolling Block Window<\/h2>\n<p>In the top menu under <strong>Time Off<\/strong> choose <strong>Time Off Blocked Days<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Click the <strong>Set Rolling Block Window<\/strong> link to open that window and set up your day in advance and to cap future.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/06\/window.png\"><img class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4322\" src=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/06\/window.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"574\" srcset=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/06\/window.png 700w, https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/06\/window-300x246.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Note that setting a rolling block <strong>has no effect on already pending or approved time off<\/strong>.\u00a0 It simply prevents employees from asking for those dates in the future.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"extrawords\">black out days<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Managers with permission to &#8220;Approve \/ Deny Time Off Requests&#8221; can also set a rolling Time Off Block window.
