{"id":397,"date":"2018-05-02T20:41:46","date_gmt":"2018-05-02T20:41:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/?page_id=397"},"modified":"2022-04-04T21:11:25","modified_gmt":"2022-04-04T21:11:25","slug":"why-emp-over-max","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/why-emp-over-max\/","title":{"rendered":"Why is Employee Over Max Hours?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you use\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-autofill\/\">AutoFill<\/a> to assign your shifts each week, it will never assign an employee over their maximum hour\/shifts maximums per day or week. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When you\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-view-edit-sched\/h-click-shift\/\">edit<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-view-edit-sched\/h-add-shift\/\">add a shift<\/a>\u00a0that puts an employee over maximum, you will be warned and have to agree to that.<\/p>\n<p>Employees cannot pickup unassigned shifts off the tradeboard or cover a dropped shift that would put them over their set maximum hours per week unless a manager approves the request.<\/p>\n<p>It is possible for employees to trade shifts and end up over their max hours in some situations if you allow them to trade shifts &#8220;at will.&#8221; \u00a0 If this is an issue, we recommend that you set the trading of shifts to &#8220;With Manager Approval&#8221; on your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-settings\/h-co-settings-emp-perm\/\"><strong>SETTINGS&gt;Global Employee Permissions<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0page, so that every Tradeboard transaction will be subject to manager approval. \u00a0Managers can then confirm that the transaction will not put employees over their maximum allowable hours before approving it.<\/p>\n<p>You might want to periodically check our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-sched-view-layouts\/h-stats-view\/\">Statistics View<\/a>\u00a0and our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-auto-sched-week\/h-analyze\/\">Analyze Shifts<\/a>\u00a0feature, especially after approving trades or making manual changes after AutoFilling a schedule. \u00a0<br \/>\nThe\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-sched-view-layouts\/h-stats-view\/\">Statistics view<\/a>\u00a0clearly shows which employees are over their maximums.<\/p>\n<p>On the Grid View and Sortable List schedule view, you&#8217;ll find a button to &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-auto-sched-week\/h-analyze\/\">Analyze Shifts<\/a>&#8216;. \u00a0This feature provides a per shift analysis, checking employee preferences, daily maximums and constraints to see if any shift has a particular conflict.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"extrawords\">over the set hours limit\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you use\u00a0AutoFill to assign your shifts each week, it will never assign an employee over their maximum hour\/shifts maximums per day or week. \u00a0&#8230;<\/p>\n<div class=\"more-link-wrapper\"><a class=\"more-link\" href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/why-emp-over-max\/\">More<span class=\"screen-reader-text\">Why is Employee Over Max Hours?<\/span><\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":12,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/397"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=397"}],"version-history":[{"count":4,"href":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/397\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":2875,"href":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/397\/revisions\/2875"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=397"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
