{"id":391,"date":"2018-05-02T20:39:45","date_gmt":"2018-05-02T20:39:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/?page_id=391"},"modified":"2021-08-16T15:13:49","modified_gmt":"2021-08-16T15:13:49","slug":"h-ignoring-prefs","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-ignoring-prefs\/","title":{"rendered":"Ignore Employee Preferences"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ignore Employee Work Time Preferences<\/strong><br \/>\nIf you do NOT want AutoFill to consider your employees&#8217; &#8220;prefer&#8221; and &#8220;dislike&#8221; work time preferences or Position preferences, you can choose to ignore them any time you AutoFill.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There is no downside to having employees enter their prefer and dislike times since they do not affect any existing shifts and you can choose to ignore them when you AutoFill if you like.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We normally recommend that you allow employees to set their prefer and dislike times so that you are always fully informed, but if for some reason you do not want them to see or be able to set their own work time preferences, you can turn off this ability on your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-settings\/h-co-settings-emp-perm\/\"><strong>SETTINGS&gt; Global Employee Permissions<\/strong> page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>To AutoFill and Ignore Employee Preferences or Position Preferences:<\/h2>\n<p>From any weekly Unpublished Schedule View:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>AutoFill<\/strong>\u00a0to open the AutoFill window\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Check the box next to:\u00a0<strong>Ignore employee &#8220;prefer&#8221; and &#8220;dislike&#8221; preferences<\/strong>\u00a0and\/or <strong>&#8220;position preferences&#8221;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Click the\u00a0<strong>AutoFill<\/strong>\u00a0button<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/08\/ssautotillignore.png\"><img class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7820\" src=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/08\/ssautotillignore.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"557\" srcset=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/08\/ssautotillignore.png 700w, https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/08\/ssautotillignore-300x239.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Employee work time preferences are shown in other places just for your convenience:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-emp-view-edit\/h-edit-emp-det\/\">Edit Shift<\/a>\u00a0window when you are looking for a replacement.
