{"id":238,"date":"2018-05-01T20:50:38","date_gmt":"2018-05-01T20:50:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/?page_id=238"},"modified":"2021-04-19T20:57:39","modified_gmt":"2021-04-19T20:57:39","slug":"h-delete-shift","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-delete-shift\/","title":{"rendered":"Delete Shifts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Shifts can be deleted (and deleted shifts can be viewed and restored) by managers with permission to Add\/Edit\/Delete Shifts.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Normally it is best to use the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-firstsched\/h-add-first-shifts\/\">By Employee Schedule View<\/a>\u00a0to edit, delete, clone or assign shifts because it allows you to quickly make changes without the page reloading. To delete a shift on that view, you can click the shift, and click the <strong>DELETE Shift<\/strong> button in the upper left. <a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-recently-deleted-shifts\/\">Deleted shifts can later be restored<\/a> if needed.<\/p>\n<p>To delete more than one shift, it may be more convenient to use the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-view-edit-sched\/h-shift-grid-bulk-edit\/\">Grid View<\/a>\u00a0or the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-sched-view-layouts\/h-sortable-list-view\/\">Sortable List schedule view<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>To Delete a Shift using other Weekly Schedule Views:<\/h2>\n<p>From any weekly schedule view (except the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/h-sub-firstsched\/h-add-first-shifts\/\">By Employee<\/a>):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click on any shift to open the Shift Change window<\/li>\n<li>Make whatever changes are needed<\/li>\n<li>Click the\u00a0<strong>DELETE Shift\u00a0<\/strong>button in the top left of the window to delete the shift\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Yes<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The window will close and the schedule view will be updated\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>If the shift was on a published week, any affected employee may be automatically notified.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/10\/ssdeleteshift.png\"><img class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4584\" src=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/10\/ssdeleteshift.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"496\" srcset=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/10\/ssdeleteshift.png 700w, https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/10\/ssdeleteshift-300x213.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"extrawords\">delete a shift take away a shift\u00a0 delete shift delete delete delete delete a shift delete a shift delete a shift &#8220;delete a shift&#8221;\u00a0 deleting work time REMOVE SHIFT cancel shift\u00a0 Cancel Shifts<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shifts can be deleted (and deleted shifts can be viewed and restored) by managers with permission to Add\/Edit\/Delete Shifts.
