This can make adding similar shifts for different Positions much easier or it can be an easy way to pre-define begin and end times, paid hours, shift colors, etc.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>To Add Shifts using Categories<\/h2>\n<h3>From the By Employee Schedule View<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Click the cell<\/strong> for the Employee and date<\/li>\n<li><strong>Choose the Category<\/strong> in the Quick Shift Add layer<\/li>\n<li>Any Category &#8220;Add shift defaults&#8221; ex. begin\/end times or color, etc. will appear (any of the information can be changed for that particular shift)\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Click the <strong>Add Shift <\/strong>button<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/08\/ssusecat.png\"><img class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7893\" src=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/08\/ssusecat.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"511\" srcset=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/08\/ssusecat.png 700w, https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/mgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/08\/ssusecat-300x219.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>From any Schedule View:\u00a0<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Add Shifts<\/strong>\u00a0to open the Add Shifts window\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Before typing anything.\u00a0<strong>choose a Category<\/strong>\u00a0in the Category dropdown\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Any Category &#8220;Add shift defaults&#8221; ex. begin\/end times or color, etc. will appear (any of the information can be changed for that particular shift)\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Enter any other desired information for the shift(s)\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Add Shift<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To test the Category and view the shifts<\/p>\n<h3>From any Schedule View\u00a0<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>In the Category dropdown, choose your new Category name (Be sure the Positions dropdown is set to All Positions)\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The Schedule View will now include only the shifts in that Category\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"extrawords\">default times by position<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you have\u00a0created Categories\u00a0with any &#8220;Add Shift Default Settings,&#8221; these defaults will automatically appear when you choose a Category in the\u00a0Add Shifts\u00a0window.
