{"id":984,"date":"2018-05-04T20:20:57","date_gmt":"2018-05-04T20:20:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/guide\/?page_id=984"},"modified":"2020-10-24T21:12:56","modified_gmt":"2020-10-24T21:12:56","slug":"h-urgent-text-alert","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/guide\/h-urgent-text-alert\/","title":{"rendered":"Send an URGENT ALERT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WhenToHelp provides a method for coordinators to send out an urgent text message alert to helpers&#8217; and coordinators&#8217; cell phones or email.<\/p>\n<p>Each helper and coordinator must sign in and set which email or text message address will receive these alerts (or the\u00a0coordinator can set this up for helpers).<\/p>\n<p>Note that urgent alerts are NOT sent to the helper &#8220;cell phone number&#8221; field that you may have entered. \u00a0Text addresses must be set up separately in the\u00a0Helper Notifications\u00a0section and each helper must first enter their validation code that is texted to them when it is first added before any urgent alerts or texts notices are sent.<\/p>\n<h2>To send an urgent alert to set up for that notification:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Hover over\u00a0<strong>MESSAGING<\/strong>\u00a0in the top menu and choose\u00a0<strong>Send Urgent Alert<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The Urgent Alert page will show the number of users who are signed up to receive these alerts next to each group<\/li>\n<li>Type the alert text up to 150 characters and be sure to include your name in the message so they know who it is from<\/li>\n<li>Choose who to send the alert to<\/li>\n<li>Check the box to send a copy to your email or text address which also will include a list of recipients<\/li>\n<li>Click the\u00a0<strong>Send<\/strong>\u00a0button and the alert is sent to all users who have chosen to receive them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/09\/sssendurgentalert.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5069\" src=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/09\/sssendurgentalert.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/09\/sssendurgentalert.png 700w, https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/09\/sssendurgentalert-300x171.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you do not see the checkbox to send a copy to yourself, be sure that you have set up your email and\/or text address notifications to include Urgent Text Alerts on your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/guide\/h-sub-settings\/h-my-notifications\/\"><strong>SETTINGS<\/strong>&gt;My Notifications<\/a>\u00a0page.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WhenToHelp provides a method for coordinators to send out an urgent text message alert to helpers&#8217; and coordinators&#8217; cell phones or email.
