{"id":338,"date":"2018-05-01T21:14:19","date_gmt":"2018-05-01T21:14:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/guide\/?page_id=338"},"modified":"2020-09-23T05:06:08","modified_gmt":"2020-09-23T05:06:08","slug":"h-edit-helper-options","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/guide\/h-edit-helper-options\/","title":{"rendered":"Let Helpers Add \/ Edit Shifts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Allow helpers to Add\/Edit Their Own Shifts\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Lite version defaults to\u00a0 allow helpers to add or edit their own shifts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If you allow helpers to edit shifts they will be able to see an &#8220;<strong>Edit Shift<\/strong>&#8221; link when they click on their own published shift. If you allow them to add shifts they will then see an &#8220;<strong>ADD NEW SHIFT<\/strong>&#8221; button on their &#8220;<strong>My Schedule Weekly<\/strong>&#8221; view.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>To change this option first update your SETTINGS&gt;Global Helper Permissions page:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Choose\u00a0<strong>SETTINGS&gt;Global Helper Permissions<\/strong>\u00a0in the top menu\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Click the down arrow for\u00a0<strong>Helpers Can ADD or MODIFY Their Own Published SHIFTS<\/strong>\u00a0and choose an option as follows:\u00a0\n<ul>\n<li><strong>No (only coordinators can change shifts)<\/strong>\u00a0This is the default and means only coordinators with permission to edit shifts can change shift information.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Edit Own Descriptions Only:<\/strong>\u00a0Lets ALL helpers edit only the descriptions of their own published shifts (ex. to note something that happened or information about that shift) If coordinators have set up to be notified when a published shift is changed, they will get a notification that includes the old description and the new description.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Edit Own Shifts (All Fields):<\/strong>\u00a0Lets ALL helpers update all editable fields for their own shifts (Start &amp; End Times, Duration, Description and if allowed: Category &amp; Color).\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Add and Edit Own Shifts:<\/strong>\u00a0Lets ALL helpers update all editable field for their own shifts and ADD new shifts for themselves on published weeks. Shifts can only be added for positions the helper can work, and new shifts cannot overlap their existing assigned shifts or approved time off.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Specify Settings for each helper:\u00a0<\/strong>This allows coordinators to individually set the add\/edit shift permissions for each helper on their Edit Helper page.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click the\u00a0<strong>Save<\/strong>\u00a0button\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/09\/sspermtoadd.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5240\" src=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/09\/sspermtoadd.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"313\" srcset=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/09\/sspermtoadd.png 700w, https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/09\/sspermtoadd-300x134.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>If you choose the last option, you can then choose the appropriate option for each helper on their Edit Helper page<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>In the top menu, choose\u00a0<strong>HELPERS<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Click the\u00a0<strong>pencil icon\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"noborder alignnone wp-image-1735 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/when2work.com\/help\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/06\/icon_pencil.png\" alt=\"pencil icon\" width=\"18\" height=\"18\" \/><\/strong>\u00a0next to the helper name\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Scroll to the very bottom of the &#8216;Edit Helper&#8217; window and choose from the\u00a0<strong>Options<\/strong>\u00a0section for the &#8220;<strong>This Helper can add or edit their own shifts<\/strong>:&#8221;\u00a0\n<ul>\n<li><strong>No (Only Coordinators can change shifts):\u00a0<\/strong>This is default which does not allow this helper to add or edit their own shifts.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Edit Own Descriptions Only:<\/strong>\u00a0Allows this helper to edit their own shift descriptions on published weeks.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Edit Own Shifts (All Fields):\u00a0<\/strong>Allows this helper to change all editable fields for their own shifts on published weeks (Start &amp; End Times, Duration, Description, and if allowed, Category &amp; Color).
